Job Position: USA Seasonal Jobs: Strawberry Pickers
Vacancy: 250 Vacancies
Company: Jacco Farms, Inc
Salary: $16.90 per hour / 36 hour Per Week
Location: Salinas, CA, USA
Begin date: 4/1/2026
End date: 11/20/2026
Are you an experienced farm worker looking for a steady, well-paying season in one of the most famous agricultural regions in the world? Jacco Farms is gearing up for our 2026 strawberry harvest, and we’re looking for 250 motivated people to join our team in the Salinas Valley.
This is classic field work: it’s physical, it’s outdoors, and it’s deeply rewarding for those who take pride in bringing fresh produce to tables across the country.
What a day in the field looks like
You’ll be starting early to beat the California heat. Your main tasks will include:
- The Harvest: Most of your day (about 6 hours) involves picking, sorting, and packaging high-quality strawberries right in the field. You’ll be walking through 13-inch rows with a picking cart, ensuring only the best berries make the cut.
- Farm Maintenance: When we aren’t harvesting, the team keeps the farm running. This includes transplanting crops, weeding, setting up irrigation lines, and managing the plastic ground covers.
- Specialized Tasks: If you have the skills (or are ready to learn), you might operate forklifts or tractors. If you have a valid driver’s license, there are also voluntary opportunities to help with transport.
- Safety First: We take care of our crew. You’ll get daily warm-up time, regular injury-prevention training, and all the gloves you need at no cost.
Are we a match?
- The Experience: Because we move fast, we need you to have at least 2 months of experience harvesting strawberries.
- The Details: You’ll need to be able to distinguish colors (to pick the ripest berries!) and have full use of both hands for delicate picking and tool use.
- The Physicality: You should be comfortable bending, shoveling, and working in various temperatures, from chilly mornings to hot afternoons.
- Communication: For safety and training, you’ll need to be able to communicate in either English or Spanish.
- The Environment: We maintain a professional, clean worksite. No smoking, drugs, or alcohol are allowed in the fields or the dormitories.
Why Salinas?
Known as the “Salad Bowl of the World,” Salinas offers a beautiful backdrop for a season of work. You’ll be working in a professional agricultural environment with a company that values safety and clear standards. Plus, with an early 1:30 PM finish, you’ll have your afternoons to rest and recharge.
