What your day will actually look like
Housekeeping is the heartbeat of the hotel. Your day will be busy and active:
- The Room Reset: You’ll make our rooms and suites special. It’s about more than just making a bed; it’s about creating that “wow” moment when a guest first walks in.
- Being a Helper: Whether it’s handing out a spare toothbrush or giving quick directions, you’re a friendly face for our guests.
- Teamwork: You’ll keep your supervisor in the loop on your progress and shout out whenever something needs a quick repair.
- Safety First: You’ll follow our safety steps and wear your protective gear—keeping yourself and our guests safe is priority number one.
- The “Detective” Work: You’ll log any lost-and-found items to help reunite guests with their forgotten belongings.
- Pitching In: Sometimes we have deep-cleaning projects or turndown duties. We’re a team that pulls together whenever an unexpected task pops up.
Is this you?
- You’re fit and active: This is a physical job. You’ll be on your feet all day, bending, kneeling, and occasionally lifting or pushing up to 50 lbs (23 kg).
- You’ve got the basics: You can read and write well enough to handle room checklists and basic notes.
- You’re flexible: Travel never stops, so we need people who can work a mix of shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- You take pride in your look: You’ll wear the InterContinental uniform with pride and keep a smart, professional appearance.
