Job Position: Bus Driver Job in Québec, Canada – LMIA in Process!
Vacancy: 6 Vacancies
Company: Autobus La Québécoise
Salary: $18.63 hourly / 30 hours per week
Location: La Prairie, QC, Canada
Are you a reliable driver who loves being on the road and working with people? Autobus La Québécoise is looking for six dedicated drivers to join our team in La Prairie, QC. Whether you’re helping kids get to school safely or assisting passengers with specialized transit needs, you’ll be a vital part of our community’s daily life.
What the Job is Really About
Being a bus driver is about more than just steering a vehicle; it’s about safety and service. Your day will include:
- Driving: Operating school buses, intercity buses, or para-transit vehicles.
- Passenger Care: Helping children board safely, assisting para-transit passengers, and managing the “vibe” on the bus to make sure everyone stays safe and focused.
- Communication: Using two-way radios to talk to dispatch and helping passengers with questions (or handling the occasional difficult situation with a calm head).
- Safety Checks: Doing your pre-trip and post-trip inspections to make sure the bus is in tip-top shape.
- Reporting: Keeping your logbooks up to date and reporting any mechanical hiccups or delays immediately.
What We’re Looking For
We need drivers who are pros behind the wheel and great with people.
- Experience: You should have 2 to 3 years of experience driving buses (school, intercity, or para-transit).
- Education: A high school diploma or equivalent experience.
- Clean Record: Because we work with children and the public, you’ll need a clean driving abstract, a criminal record check, a child welfare check, and a drug test.
- Skills: You have great judgment, a cool head under pressure, and you’re a “people person” who communicates clearly.
Why You’ll Love It
You aren’t stuck in an office! You get to be out in the community, seeing the sights of Québec, and ensuring people get where they need to go safely. We value flexibility and reliability, and we treat our drivers like the professionals they are.
📄 LMIA Status: The employer has applied for an LMIA and is waiting for approval. Canadian citizens and permanent residents are also encouraged to apply.
