The Australian Government, through the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA), is thrilled to announce its Aviation Scholarship Program for 2025, designed to support safety managers committed to advancing aviation safety culture within their organizations. This scholarship initiative aims to provide professional development opportunities for individuals passionate about enhancing safety standards in the aviation industry.

Scholarship Details

The CASA Safety Manager Scholarship offers three scholarships, each valued at $5,000 (plus GST), to eligible safety managers. This financial support is intended to help recipients expand their skills and knowledge through professional training and development courses. The scholarships are available to those currently holding or who have previously held safety-related roles in aviation, with a minimum of two years of relevant experience.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible, applicants must:

  • Hold or have previously held a safety manager or related role in aviation.
  • Have at least two years of relevant aviation industry experience.
  • Be planning to undertake or currently undertaking a professional development course within the scholarship period.
  • Be an Australian citizen or hold permanent residency.

Application and Selection Process

The selection process follows a four-stage method to ensure a fair and comprehensive evaluation:

  1. Application Submission: Applicants must complete an online form and provide relevant details and documents.
  2. Shortlisting: Shortlisted candidates will need to submit a conflict-of-interest declaration before proceeding to the next stage.
  3. Interview Stage: Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed, and referee checks will be conducted.
  4. Outcome Notification: Successful applicants will enter into an agreement with CASA, and unsuccessful candidates will be informed by email.

Evaluation Criteria

The selection panel will assess candidates based on:

  • Relevant industry experience (minimum of 2 years).
  • Dedication to aviation safety.
  • Attitude towards safety culture and development plans.
  • Demonstrated effort in undertaking both theoretical and practical training.

How to Apply CASA Scholarship?

Eligible candidates are encouraged to apply through CASA’s official platform Applicants will need to provide supporting documentation, including:

  • Two professional references (non-family members), such as an employer or community leader.
