Job Position: Apiary Worker Job in Canada For Foreigners – LMIA Pending
Vacancy: 15 vacancies
Company: Thrive Honey
Salary: $ 17.98 to 25.00 hourly (To be negotiated) / 30 to 60 hours per week
Location: Coaldale, AB, Canada
we run a honey farm out in Coaldale and we need people who actually know how to work with bees. Not just read about it – actually done it. If you’ve spent time managing hives and harvesting honey, keep reading.
Day-to-Day Stuff
Pretty straightforward beekeeping work:
- Keep the bee yards running smoothly
- Harvest honey when it’s ready
- Maintain all the equipment (hive boxes, extractors, the whole deal)
- Check on the bees, make sure colonies are healthy
- Whatever else needs doing around the apiary
Real Talk About the Job
It’s not for everyone:
- You’re outside all day, every day – Alberta summers get HOT
- You’ll be wearing a full bee suit in that heat
- It’s dusty, sticky, and you’ll smell like smoke and honey
- Harvest time is crazy busy – long days, tight schedules
- Heavy lifting constantly (those honey supers are no joke)
- Your back and knees will feel it – lots of bending and crouching
Who We’re Looking For
You need to have:
- Actually worked with bees before (1-2 years doing this for real)
- A driver’s license – you’ll be driving between yards
- English or French speaking ability
You should be:
- Someone who pays attention to small details (bees will let you know if you don’t!)
- In decent shape – this job is physically demanding
- Organized and able to manage your time
- Chill working with a team or on your own
- Flexible when things don’t go as planned (because they never do with bees)
The Basics
- No diploma needed – we care about experience, not paperwork
- You have to actually be here – can’t do beekeeping from your couch
- Got to handle working fast and staying focused
The Good Stuff
- Bonuses when we do well
- We can help with housing if you need it
- Rural Alberta is beautiful if you’re into that
📄 LMIA Status: The employer has applied for an LMIA and is waiting for approval. Canadian citizens and permanent residents are also encouraged to apply.
