MITO 2025 Scholarships Now Open for Applications
Are you an aspiring or successful graduate looking to advance your skills and knowledge in the automotive, transport, or extractive industries? MITO’s 2025 scholarship programme, in partnership with the Inspiring Futures Foundation, is now accepting applications to help learners achieve their educational and career goals.
This initiative offers funding for apprenticeships, graduate business diplomas, advanced technical programmes, and management courses.

Scholarship Categories
1# Janet Lane MNZM Scholarship

- Aimed at future leaders, this scholarship covers the programme fee for a leadership training programme designed to develop personal leadership skills.
- Eligibility: Applicants must gain admission to the leadership programme they wish to use the scholarship for.
- Availability: One scholarship.
2# Clyde Cunningham QSM Memorial Scholarship

- This scholarship covers the fee for MITO’s New Zealand Certificate in Business (First Line Management) (Level 4), commencing in 2025.
- Eligibility: Applicants must have completed a MITO automotive apprenticeship and be based in the Hawke’s Bay region.
- Availability: Up to two scholarships.
3# Duncan “Sandy” Fraser Memorial Scholarship

- Covering the programme fee for MITO’s New Zealand Certificate in Business (First Line Management) (Level 4) for 2025, this scholarship is intended for those in the Wellington region.
- Eligibility: Applicants must have completed a MITO automotive apprenticeship and be based in the Wellington region.
- Availability: Up to two scholarships.
4# Kickstart Scholarship

- This scholarship covers the first-year fees for any MITO training programme starting in 2025.
- Eligibility: Open to individuals employed full-time in any of MITO’s industries or those with a confirmed employment offer for next year.
- Availability: Multiple scholarships.
5# Kickstart – Māori Scholarship

- Specifically for Māori applicants, this scholarship covers the first-year fees for a MITO training programme commencing in 2025.
- Eligibility: Applicants must be employed full-time in any of MITO’s industries or have an employment offer for the following year.
- Availability: Multiple scholarships for Māori applicants.
6# NEW! Kickstart – Women Scholarship

- This newly introduced scholarship supports women entering MITO industries by covering the first-year fees for a 2025 training programme.
- Eligibility: Open to women employed full-time in any of MITO’s industries or those with a job offer for next year.
- Availability: Multiple scholarships for female applicants.
